Why KS8 Uses One-Device Licensing
Understand the operational boundary, reset path, and privacy expectations around a licence bound to one physical computer.
The boundary
- One active licence is intended for one customer on one physical computer.
- The device binding prevents simultaneous sharing and keeps activation state auditable.
- A legitimate hardware change uses the controlled reset or transfer process.
- Security correlation should not become marketing tracking.
Ask support before changing hardware
If a major hardware or operating-system change is planned, review the current reset policy first. Do not expose the serial or device fingerprint in a public ticket.
Review step
Save a before-and-after capture, then review the observations against the rules written in advance. Do not redefine success after seeing the outcome.
